Some of the largest trout in the mainland 48 states (fish up to 20 pounds!) are quietly swimming, finning and eating in the spring- fed rivers and lakes of southern Oregon’s Klamath Basin. Our May presenter, Marlon Rampy, will show us all about this fantastic fly fishing playground.
Marlon’s presentation will be a multi-media composition with plenty of photos, sound, scenery, music and yes, even some lovely fish. He will take us on a detailed journey thru the Klamath Basin’s varied waters with images to help us pinpoint our next fishing trip to Southern Oregon.

Since its inception in 1995, Marlon's guide business, Wildwest Fly Fishing, has steadily gained a dedicated following as a quality fly fishing experience.

The presentation focuses on the five sport fish that are caught in the heart of Southwest Alaska’s Bristol Bay region, in the Wood-Tikchik Lakes, rivers and streams.  The area is home to some of the highest concentrations of Rainbow Trout to be found in the state of Alaska as well as large populations of Arctic Char, Arctic Grayling and Northern Pike.  The watershed also sees literally millions of Sockeye Salmon return annually to spawn.  All five species will be covered in detail, including best times of the season, lines, rods, flies, and how the fishery revolves around the life cycle of the Salmon. This is a very informative and interesting presentation. Questions are welcomed.

When I stop to think about it, I have been fly fishing for almost 40 years.  My, how time flies when you’re having fun.
