Here's a quick how-to on including pictures in your posts.

There are 2 ways to share pictures in your post.

1. The first method is by uploading a picture file as an attachment

You can upload up to 10 pictures in 1 post, and each picture must be less than 150KB in size, and at most 1024 pixels in either width or height. This is to minimize storage on our server.

Below the message editing box, there is a box for Attachments with a button to Add File:

Once you've added the attachment, you can Insert it into your Message:

The inserted attachment will show up where your cursor was:

2. The second method is by linking an image on the internet.
The only restriction for linking images from the internet is 20 links per post. This is so that posts don't become painfully slow loading. I personally use a paid picture-hosting service (SmugMug) which not only has picture and video hosting, but very customizable gallery and privacy settings. Your mileage may vary depending on what service you use to store your pictures.

To do so, click on the Image Link icon in the Boardcode section.

This will open up a link entry box:

You don't need to worry about the Size box. All you need to do is over-write the contents of the URL box with the link to your picture. and click Insert.

An example linked image is this:

First off, thank you for your efforts in getting this forum up and running. A couple of comments. First, 8 pictures is not enough! I realize storage is an issue, but if possible 20 pictures would be nice. Of course, more is better. Second, since I use an image hosting service I link directly from that using an IMG tag directly into the body of the message. What are the maximum number of pictures if you go that route? I tried 8 and 20 pictures and neither worked, I got an error message of "too many links".

Thanks for the feedback.

I've upped the number of attachments per post to 10. As we (hopefully) get more members here and sharing, storage does become an issue. If the majority of our members want to have more attachments per post, then we can revisit that.

I browsed around the configurations for the forum. The default was set to 6 links. I've increased that to 20. I could have set it to more, but I don't want the potential for painfully slow page loading due to large number of pictures.
