Conservation Fundraiser Silent Auction
One of the goals of the Conservation Committee was a desire to help members get out and fish. So, we have asked guides and lodges to donate discounted trips so that you can get out and enjoy the wonderful sport of fly fishing. Guides and lodges have responded with some great fishing opportunities.
El Encuentro Lodge is near Esquel, Argentina on the Futaleufu River, http://patagonia-fly-fishing.com/argentina_encuentro.html. This trip is no cost for two which covers lodging, meals, and guide service for 7 nights 6 ½ days of fishing in the area. Not included is the overnight flight to Buenos Aires and flight to Esquel, Argentina, fishing fees, alcoholic beverages, and tips. This is a great opportunity to fish and see the great Patagonia region of Argentina.
Reel Wilderness Adventures (www.reelwild.com) in the Wood-Tikchik Wilderness of Alaska offers an opportunity to fish the great state of Alaska at an affordable price. This trip for 2 anglers is discounted 25% off the regular $4000 for one, or $6000 for two, and includes everything except the airfare to and from Dillingham, AK, and tip. Several of our Flycasters have been to Reel Wilderness for more than one trip.
If you have ever wanted to fish saltwater in Florida, Capt. Pete Greenan (www.floridaflyfishing.com) is offering a trip for 2 for the price of 1 with lodging for 2 days of guided fishing in the Boca Grande area, famous for Tarpon, in Southeastern Florida near Fort Meyers. There are opportunities for catching Redfish, Snook and Tarpon for most of the year.
Closer to home,Clearwater Lodge (www.clearwaterlodge.com) on the Pit River in Northern California is offering FREE 3 nights/3 days at the lodge for 2 which includes lodging and meals only plus $100 off a $400 guide day. This lodge is located close to great fishing on Pit River, Hat Creek, Fall River and McCloud River. The other is Yamsi Ranch in Southern Oregon on the upper Williamson River. This lodge is offering a 2 for the price of 1, 3 night stay which includes fishing, lodging and meals and orientation to the river. This offers great dry fishing on a beautiful spring creek for large Rainbow trout.
And last but not least are the many discounted Guide trips in the Sierras and Northern California. The silent auction will also include many Items of fly fishing equipment such as fly rods and reels, a pontoon boat and float tube, fly plates, artwork, and flies tied by tiers from our club and others. Most silent auction items have a small minimum bid with proceeds to the clubs conservation projects.
